Details: Cars Must Be Street Legal
- License plate, current registration, current insurance, current safety check are required. Everything a safety check requires must still be operational, e.g. lights, turn signals, horn, etc.
- Tires can be swapped out at the track for slicks or other race tires.
There Will Be a Cruise
- A short street cruise the morning of the event will be required to demonstrate true street ability. The exact cruise route will be determined by GIRA, but expect a cruise of about 30 minutes over different kinds of real street roads. The starting time and location of the cruise will be announced the week before the race.
- Cars that stop or fall more than 10 minutes behind will be disqualified. Each competitor and crew must drive safely and follow all traffic laws during the cruise.
- There will be some time after the cruise before the race for minor maintenance only, e.g. refueling, tire pressure, tire swap, ECU tuning, but no major mechanical part replacement is allowed between cruise and racing.
For Real Street Cars (Judging by GIRA, its decision is final)
- Factory production type vehicles with normal driver’s position. No roadsters, altered, dragsters.
- Body modifications are allowed for style, aero, etc. but vehicles must be street appearing.
- All glass must be factory appearing and operational, e.g. side windows roll up and down. Plastic replacement windows that appear factory are OK.
- Two front seats are required; no missing interior panels or gutted interiors. Interior modifications that are neat and wouldn’t scare people riding in your car are OK.
- Factory appearing dash required; replacement, deletion, and/or addition of gauges and switches is allowed.
- Mufflers are required. Exhaust(s) may exit the vehicle anywhere. Catalytic converter and factory pollution controls are not required.
Performance Mods Allowed
